Indonesian Rupiah Exchange Rate Weakens to Rp 14,838 per US Dollar (Thursday, June 23, 2022)

As of 11:23 WIB today, June 23, 2022, the rupiah exchange rate in the spot market is traded at Rp 14,838 per US dollar. This represents a 0.19% weakening compared to the previous day's closing rate of Rp 14,810 per US dollar. Today's trading is expected to range between 14822.5 and 14867.5.

According to investing.com, the rupiah exchange rate in the spot market has been under pressure, weakening by 0.59% in the past week. Compared to 30 days ago, the rupiah in the spot market has weakened by 1.28%. Over the past year, the rupiah in the spot market reached a high of Rp 14,830 per US dollar.

For the period January-June 2022, the rupiah exchange rate in the spot market has shown a weakening trend, moving 1.25% compared to the level a month ago, which was at Rp 14,655 per US dollar.

The current condition of the rupiah exchange rate contrasts with most regional currencies, which are weakening against the US dollar.

This afternoon, according to several major currencies monitored by Bank Indonesia, the South Korean won weakened by 3.43 points (+0.26%) to KRW 1,301.27 per US dollar, the Japanese yen strengthened by 0.87 points (-0.63%), the Singapore dollar weakened (+0.13%), the euro strengthened by 0.0005 points (-0.05%), and the Chinese yuan weakened (+0.02%).
