Sumatera Selatan Food Prices on Monday (May 20th): Chili Prices Rise, Onion Prices Fall

The prices of several food commodities in South Sumatra today have been observed to increase compared to yesterday.

Citing data from the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel on Monday (20/5/2024) at 17.13 WIB, out of 20 commodities, 9 commodities increased and 8 commodities decreased in price.

Commodities that increased in price include curly red chilies, bulk cooking oil, red chilies, bulk wheat flour, and iodized fine salt.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as shallots, chicken eggs, milkfish, medium rice, and mackerel have decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Red chilies saw the highest price increase of Rp1,430 (3.58%) to Rp41,340 per kg. Mackerel saw the lowest price decrease of Rp790 (2.47%) to Rp31,180 per kg.
