South Sumatra Food Prices, Week of August 25th: Onion Prices Rise, Chili Prices Fall

The prices of several food commodities in South Sumatra today are observed to have increased compared to yesterday.

Based on the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel data on Sunday (25/8/2024) at 10:29 WIB, out of 21 commodities, 10 commodities increased and 10 commodities decreased in price.

Commodities that increased in price include iodized fine salt, farmer-level corn, garlic bulbs, bulk cooking oil, and pure beef.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as packaged wheat flour (non-bulk), red chili peppers, dry soybean (import), milkfish, and premium rice decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

The price of mackerel experienced the highest increase of Rp2,930 (10.26%) to Rp31,490 per kg. Meanwhile, the price of red chili peppers decreased the most, by Rp1,530 (2.97%) to Rp50,070 per kg.
