Latest East Java Food Prices: Onion Prices Up, Chili Prices Down

The prices of several food commodities in East Java today are observed to be higher than yesterday.

Based on food price panel data from the National Food Agency (Bapanas) on Friday (6/9/2024) at 11:25 WIB, out of 21 commodities, 10 commodities increased in price and 10 commodities decreased.

Commodities that increased in price include garlic bulbs, packaged wheat flour (non-bulk), dry soybean (import), shallots, and simple packaged cooking oil.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as broiler chicken, farmer-level corn, pure beef, SPHP rice, and fine iodized salt decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Shallots saw the highest price increase, jumping Rp270 (1.31%) to Rp20,860 per kg. Meanwhile, the price of curly red chilies decreased the most sharply, by Rp830 (3.4%) to Rp23,560 per kg.

The following is a complete list of the prices of 21 food commodities in East Java according to Bapanas on September 6, 2024, at 11:25 WIB.

6. Red Chili Peppers: Rp31,100 per kg (down 1.11%)
7. Skipjack Tuna: Rp29,990 per kg (up 0.27%)
8. Broiler Chicken Eggs: Rp24,560 per kg (up 0.08%)
9. Curly Red Chilies: Rp23,560 per kg (down 3.4%)
10. Shallots: Rp20,860 per kg (up 1.31%)
11. Simple Packaged Cooking Oil: Rp16,770 per liter (up 0.6%)
12. Consumption Sugar: Rp16,490 per kg (up 0.3%)
