Latest Food Prices in Yogyakarta Special Region: Onions Up, Rice Down

The prices of several food commodities in Yogyakarta, D.I. today are observed to have increased compared to yesterday.

Based on the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel data on Friday (17/5/2024) at 15.06 WIB, out of 20 commodities, 8 commodities increased and 8 commodities decreased in price.

Commodities that increased in price include iodized fine salt, milkfish, granulated sugar, shallots, and shallot bulbs.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as medium-grain rice, chicken eggs, skipjack tuna, broiler chicken, and curly red chilies decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Shallots saw the highest price increase, jumping Rp2,560 (6.0%) to Rp45,250 per kg. Meanwhile, medium-grain rice experienced the lowest price decrease, dropping Rp280 (2.14%) to Rp12,810 per kg.
