West Sumatra Food Price Update Today: Chicken Price Up, Chili Price Down (Monday, December 18, 2023)

The prices of several food commodities in West Sumatra today are observed to have increased compared to yesterday.

Based on the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel data on Monday (18/12/2023) at 12:46 WIB, out of 20 commodities, 11 commodities increased and 9 commodities decreased in price.

Commodities that increased in price include pure beef, granulated sugar, farmer-level corn, milkfish, and premium rice.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as Indian mackerel, fine iodized salt, simple packaged cooking oil, packaged wheat flour (non-bulk), and skipjack tuna decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

The price of broiler chicken experienced the highest increase, up by Rp1,030 (3.74%) to Rp28,540 per kg. Meanwhile, the price of red chili saw the lowest decrease, down by Rp14,690 (24.71%) to Rp44,750 per kg.
