Sumatera Barat Food Prices on Thursday (August 8th): What's the Price of Onions?

The prices of several food commodities in West Sumatra today are observed to have increased compared to yesterday.

Citing data from the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel on Thursday (8/8/2024) at 13.02 WIB, out of 21 commodities, 11 commodities increased and 8 commodities decreased in price.

Commodities that increased in price include pure beef, farmer-level corn, packaged wheat flour (non-bulk), dry soybean (import), and skipjack tuna.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as red chilies, medium rice, premium rice, broiler chicken, and SPHP rice decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Skipjack tuna prices saw the highest increase, jumping Rp780 (2.17%) to Rp36,800 per kg. Red chili prices saw the steepest decrease, dropping Rp930 (1.7%) to Rp53,840 per kg.
