Today's West Sumatra Food Prices: Rice Prices Up, Chili Prices Down

The prices of several food commodities in West Sumatra today are observed to have increased compared to yesterday.

Citing data from the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel on Monday (9/12/2024) at 15.26 WIB, out of 21 commodities, 12 commodities increased and 9 commodities decreased in price.

Commodities that increased in price include premium rice, milkfish, shallots, skipjack tuna, and medium rice.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as chicken eggs, farmer-level corn, garlic bulbs, bulk wheat flour, and dry soybean (import) decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Skipjack tuna prices saw the highest increase, jumping Rp960 (2.62%) to Rp37,630 per kg. Red chili prices saw the sharpest decrease, dropping Rp3,620 (8.48%) to Rp39,090 per kg.

6. Chicken Meat: Rp36,510 per kg (down 1.03%)
7. Milkfish: Rp35,700 per kg (up 0.51%)
8. Shallots: Rp29,180 per kg (up 0.86%)
9. Chicken Eggs: Rp28,250 per kg (down 1.09%)
