Sumatera Barat Food Prices Friday (October 18th): Chili Prices Up, Salt Prices Down

The prices of several food commodities in West Sumatra today are observed to have increased compared to yesterday.

Based on food price panel data from the National Food Agency (Bapanas) on Friday (18/10/2024) at 09.01 WIB, out of 20 commodities, 12 commodities increased and 8 commodities decreased in price.

Commodities that increased in price include premium rice, garlic cloves, chicken eggs, milkfish, and shallots.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as dry soybean (import), fine iodized salt, bulk wheat flour, medium rice, and simple packaged cooking oil decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

The commodity with the highest price increase was curly red chilies, up by Rp5,830 (18.95%) to Rp36,590 per kg. The commodity with the steepest price decrease was fine iodized salt, down by Rp2,310 (14.65%) to Rp13,460 per kg.

6. Curly Red Chilies: Rp36,590 per kg (up 18.95%)
7. Skipjack Tuna: Rp36,590 per kg (up 1.02%)
8. Milkfish: Rp35,000 per kg (up 10.83%)
9. Shallots: Rp30,000 per kg (up 2.42%)
10. Chicken Eggs: Rp28,650 per kg (up 0.03%)
