Latest Food Prices in South Sumatra Region: Onions Up, Rice Down (Friday, December 29, 2023)

The prices of several food commodities in South Sumatra today have been observed to increase compared to yesterday.

Based on data from the National Food Agency (Bapanas) price panel on Friday, December 29, 2023, at 10:53 WIB, out of 20 commodities, 10 commodities increased and 8 commodities decreased in price.

Commodities that increased in price include red chilies, curly red chilies, pure beef, dry soybean (import), and packaged wheat flour (non-bulk).

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as medium-grain rice, simple packaged cooking oil, chicken eggs, granulated sugar, and fine iodized salt decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Shallots saw the highest price increase, jumping by Rp810 (2.27%) to Rp36,430 per kg. Meanwhile, the price of medium-grain rice decreased the most, falling by Rp160 (1.22%) to Rp12,970 per kg.
