Latest Food Prices in West Sumatra: Prices of Onions, Rice, and Beef Drop

The prices of several food commodities in West Sumatra today are observed to have decreased compared to yesterday.

Citing data from the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel on Wednesday (6/11/2024) at 12:09 WIB, out of 21 commodities, 9 commodities increased and 12 commodities decreased in price.

Commodities that increased in price include farmer-level corn, granulated sugar, skipjack tuna, iodized fine salt, and broiler eggs.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as premium rice, bulk cooking oil, SPHP rice, dry soybean (import), and red chili peppers decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Skipjack tuna prices saw the highest increase, jumping Rp4,400 (12.1%) to Rp40,750 per kg. Red chili pepper prices experienced the sharpest decrease, dropping Rp12,980 (29.82%) to Rp30,550 per kg.

6. Red Chili Peppers: Rp30,550 per kg (down 29.82%)
7. Milkfish: Rp30,500 per kg (down 5.48%)
8. Curly Red Chili Peppers: Rp29,280 per kg (down 2.4%)
9. Red Onion: Rp29,150 per kg (up 0.52%)
10. Broiler Eggs: Rp28,700 per kg (up 0.7%)
