Indonesia's Latest Food Prices: Chili Up, Salt Down (Monday, February 5, 2024)

Prices of several food commodities in Indonesia today are observed to have increased compared to yesterday.

Based on the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel data on Monday (5/2/2024) at 09.24 WIB, out of 20 commodities, 16 commodities increased and 4 commodities decreased in price.

Commodities that increased in price include skipjack tuna, garlic bulbs, chicken eggs, mackerel, and farmer-level corn.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as packaged wheat flour (non-bulk), pure beef, fine iodized salt, and medium rice decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

The price of red chilies surged the highest by Rp2,930 (5.9%) to Rp52,600 per kg. The price of fine iodized salt decreased the most by Rp80 (0.69%) to Rp11,520 per kg.
