Unequal to KPK Employees, How Much is the Basic Salary of Police Officers?

Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati will review the civil servant (ASN) salary system. This is due to protests from police officers whose salaries differ from those of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) employees.

According to Government Regulation Number 17 of 2019, the basic salary of police officers is determined by their rank. The basic salary for Rank I (Tamtama – Bhayangkara and Ajun Brigadir) starts at Rp 1.64 million. Rank II (Bintara – Brigadir and Ajun Inspektur) receives a basic salary starting from Rp 2.1 million.

Next, the basic salary for Rank III (First Officer – Inspektur and Ajun Komisaris) starts at Rp 2.74 million. At the highest rank, Rank IV (Middle Officer – Komisaris, Ajun Komisaris Besar, and Komisaris Besar) and High-Ranking Officer (Brigadir Jenderal, Inspektur Jenderal, Komisaris Jenderal, Jenderal) receive basic salaries starting from Rp 3 million and Rp 3.3 million, respectively.

In addition to basic salaries, police officers receive various allowances, including performance and pension allowances.
