Gorontalo Regency's 2023 current price Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) reached Rp16.09 trillion. This represents a 4.51% growth compared to the previous year's Rp14.89 trillion.
Compared to the COVID-19 pandemic period in 2020, the region's economic growth is significantly higher. At the end of 2020, post-COVID, growth was recorded at a decrease of 0.01%.
According to BPS (Statistics Indonesia) data, with a total population of 415,200, the GRDP per capita in this region is recorded at Rp39,690,000/capita/year. Nationally, this ranks 308th.
Of the 17 sectors driving the economy in this regency, agriculture, forestry, and fisheries are the leading sectors.
Agriculture, forestry, and fisheries contributed the largest share to the GRDP in 2023, reaching Rp6.23 trillion, a growth of 3.95%.
Following this is the construction sector, which grew by 6.31% to Rp2.3 trillion, and the wholesale and retail trade, repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles sector with a GRDP of Rp1.75 trillion (9.74%).
Rounding out the top five is the manufacturing industry with a value of Rp765.5 billion. According to BPS, this sector grew by 0.35% over the past year from the previous achievement of Rp733.27 billion.

In terms of distribution, the main sector contributing the most to GRDP growth in Gorontalo Regency is agriculture, forestry, and fisheries, with a contribution of 38.65%. Other sectors in the top five are construction, wholesale and retail trade, repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles, transportation and warehousing, and manufacturing.
Sectors with the smallest distribution are Other Services, Real Estate, Electricity and Gas Supply, Business Services, and Water Supply, Waste Management, Waste and Recycling.
