Today's Food Prices (March 19) in East Java: Red Chili Rises, Bird's Eye Chili Falls

Several food commodity prices in East Java today were observed to increase compared to yesterday.

Quoting data from the Ministry of Trade's Basic Needs Market Monitoring System (SP2KP Kemendag) on Thursday (March 19, 2026) at 18:05 WIB, out of 16 commodities, 10 increased and 3 decreased.

Commodities with price increases include premium packaged palm cooking oil, large red chili, beef rump, bulk palm cooking oil, and shallots.

Meanwhile, prices of some commodities such as wheat flour, red bird's eye chili, and Honan garlic decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Large red chili prices jumped the highest by Rp663 (1.75%) to Rp38,575 per kg. Red bird's eye chili prices dropped the steepest by Rp2,482 (2.9%) to Rp83,215 per kg.

5. Shallots: Rp35,947 per kg (up 0.34%)
6. Curly Red Chili: Rp35,729 per kg (up 0.72%)
7. Honan Garlic: Rp30,385 per kg (down 0.15%)
8. Broiler Chicken Eggs: Rp29,570 per kg (up 0.19%)
9. Premium Packaged Palm Cooking Oil: Rp20,291 per liter (up 0.13%)
10. Bulk Palm Cooking Oil: Rp18,556 per liter (up 0.22%)
11. Bulk Granulated Sugar: Rp16,802 per kg (up 0.19%)
