Indonesian Rupiah Exchange Rate Weakens to Rp 15,607 per US Dollar (Friday, December 23, 2022)

As of 10:46 WIB this morning, the rupiah exchange rate in the spot market is traded at Rp 15,607 per US dollar on Friday, December 23, 2022. This exchange rate weakened by 0.16% compared to the previous day's closing, which was traded at Rp 15,582 per US dollar. Today's trading of the rupiah exchange rate is expected to move in the range of 15582.5 - 15612.5.

According to investing.com, the rupiah exchange rate in the spot market has increased by 0.05% in a week. Compared to the previous 30 days, the rupiah exchange rate in the spot market has strengthened by 0.49%.

However, for the one-year data range, the rupiah exchange rate in the spot market has actually decreased (strengthened). In the last year, the previous highest record reached Rp 15,740 per US dollar.

For the January-December 2022 period, the rupiah exchange rate in the spot market continued to strengthen, moving -0.51% compared to the condition a month ago, which was at Rp 15,690 per US dollar.

The current condition of the rupiah exchange rate is contrary to most regional currencies that are strengthening against the US dollar.

This morning, according to several major currencies monitored by Bank Indonesia, the South Korean won strengthened by 8.49 points (-0.66%) to KRW 1,283.45 per US dollar, the Japanese yen weakened by 0.31 points (+0.23%), the Singapore dollar strengthened by 0.0011 points (-0.09%), the euro strengthened by 0.001 points (-0.11%), and the Chinese yuan strengthened by 0.0118 points (-0.17%).
