HCC Research: Many Jabodetabek Residents Experience Loneliness

The Health Collaborative Center, a non-profit public health research institution, has revealed research findings indicating high levels of loneliness among residents of Jabodetabek (Greater Jakarta).

Specifically, 44% of respondents reported moderate loneliness and 6% reported severe loneliness in October 2023, as reported by *CNN Indonesia*.

Lead researcher Ray Wagiu Basrowi stated that among the 44% experiencing loneliness, the majority were migrants, under 40 years old, unmarried, and female.

Furthermore, the research found that over 600 individuals were unaware of their loneliness.

The following details the survey results for the 44% of Jabodetabek respondents experiencing moderate loneliness:

* Women experiencing moderate loneliness: 52%
* Unmarried individuals experiencing moderate loneliness: 59%
* Young people (under 40) experiencing moderate loneliness: 51%
* Migrant residents experiencing moderate loneliness: 56%

The survey, conducted since October 2023, involved 1,299 respondents in Jabodetabek. The majority of participants were married (82%), migrants (32%), and lived with their parents (47%).

The survey utilized the UCLA Loneliness Scale with a 95% confidence level and a margin of error of 2.3%.
