Based on the SiPongi forest and land fire monitoring system from the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (KLHK), monitoring over the last 24 hours detected 1,687 hotspots across Indonesia. This figure decreased by 79 points compared to the previous monitoring period.

This data was obtained from Terra/Aqua, SNPP, and NOAA satellite imagery accessed on Thursday (30/7/2026) at 11:34 WIB. Out of 1,687 detected hotspots: 78 had high confidence level, 1572 medium confidence, and 37 low confidence level.

Hotspot confidence is classified into 3 scales: low (0-29), medium (30-79), high (80-100). Higher hotspot confidence indicates greater probability of forest and land fire occurrence in the area.

The highest hotspot count was recorded in South Papua with 380 points, followed by West Kalimantan (227 points) and East Nusa Tenggara (114 points).

Central Kalimantan registered 77 hotspots, South Sumatra 76, while Maluku and East Kalimantan recorded 72 and 69 hotspots respectively.

Hotspots are coordinate points showing higher surface temperature than surrounding areas, this does not equal the total number of fire incidents.

However, clustered high hotspot counts indicate active forest and land fires; satellite remote sensing hotspot data remains the most effective method for large-scale fire monitoring.
