Prevalence of Inadequate Food Consumption in Kubu Raya Decreased by 3.2% in the Last 5 Years

The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) reported that the prevalence of undernourishment (PoU) in Kubu Raya Regency, West Kalimantan reached 16.13% in 2025.

This figure decreased by 1.43% from the previous year's 17.56%, while in the last 5 years it decreased by 3.2%.

Indonesia's average PoU in 2025 was 7.89%. This means that the PoU in Kubu Raya Regency is higher than the national average.

According to the National Food Agency (Bapanas), PoU is a condition where a person regularly consumes an insufficient amount of food to meet the energy needed for a normal, active, and healthy life.

This indicator can be used as a tool to see food and nutrition security conditions.

This means that the residents of Kubu Raya Regency who consume food but lack energy needs account for up to 16.13% of the total population.

Compared to the other 13 regencies/cities in West Kalimantan Province, Kubu Raya Regency's PoU ranks 11th. The regions with the lowest PoU (top ranking) are Pontianak City (7.54%) and the highest (last ranking) are Melawi Regency (19.49%).
