Based on data from the Indonesian National Police's Criminal Information Center (Pusiknas), 154,602 criminal offenses were recorded throughout Indonesia during the first half of 2022.
During this period, the most common crimes were theft, fraud or deception, assault, battery, and narcotics abuse.
In the first half of 2022, 60,431 individuals reported to have committed crimes had their occupations recorded; the majority were employees.
The definition of "reported individual" is someone suspected of committing a crime and reported to the authorities.
"Private employees constitute the highest number of reported individuals, with 31,775 individuals or 52.58% of the total reported individuals whose occupations were known," stated the Indonesian National Police in their report.
The next highest number of reported individuals were farmers, fishermen, or traders, followed by students. Meanwhile, the number of unemployed or jobless suspects was smaller, as shown in the graph.
In terms of education, the majority of individuals reported for crimes in Indonesia were high school graduates (53.77%), while the proportion of reported individuals from other educational levels was smaller.
Of all cases recorded by the Indonesian National Police in the first half of 2022, the majority, or 18.1% of crimes, occurred between 8:00 AM and 11:59 AM.
The relatively safest time was between 5:00 AM and 7:59 AM. Only 5.8% of crimes occurred during this time, the lowest compared to other times.
