What is the world's population?

According to the United States Bureau of Statistics, the world's population in January 2018 reached 7.53 billion. The largest group was children aged 0-4 years, totaling 662 million (approximately 8.7% of the total population), followed by the 5-9 and 10-14 year old age groups. Meanwhile, those aged over 100 years numbered 500,000, or about 0.01% of the population.

The world's population of working age (15-64 years) reached 4.99 billion, or about 66% of the total world population. The 0-14 year old population reached 1.93 billion. The population aged 65 and over reached 681 million.

Of the total world population of 7.53 billion, more than half use internet technology. A survey by We Are Social and Hootsuite found that 4.02 billion (53%) of the world's population are active internet users. Those using the internet actively via mobile devices reached 3.72 billion, or 49% of the total world population.
