Not Jakarta, This Province Has the Highest Number of BPJS Holders in Indonesia

The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) recorded that 95.14% of Aceh's population had National Health Insurance (JKN) administered by the Social Security Guarantee Agency (BPJS) in 2021. This percentage is the highest compared to other provinces in Indonesia.

In addition to BPJS Kesehatan, 9.77% of Aceh's population had Regional Health Insurance (Jamkesda), 0.18% had private insurance, and 0.57% had health insurance from their company or office. Only 3.38% of Aceh's population did not have health insurance.

Besides Aceh, the percentage of the population with BPJS Kesehatan is also high in DKI Jakarta, reaching 85.55% of the total population.

Furthermore, the population of the Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY) and North Kalimantan with BPJS Kesehatan is the same at 78.08%. Meanwhile, in Gorontalo, 77.69% of the population has BPJS Kesehatan.

75.19% of South Sulawesi's population has BPJS Kesehatan. 73.59% of West Sulawesi's population has BPJS Kesehatan.

Meanwhile, a total of 60.49% of the Indonesian population had BPJS Kesehatan. This percentage is the highest compared to other health insurance schemes, such as Jamkesda at 8.45%, private insurance at 0.76%, and health insurance from companies or offices at 2.93%. Meanwhile, 31.64% of the Indonesian population did not have health insurance in 2021.
