According to the 2017 Global Wealth Report from the Credit Suisse Research Institute, the number of wealthy Indonesians totaled 111,000 individuals, with a combined wealth of US$1.84 trillion, or approximately Rp 24.880 trillion. With a total adult population of 167.6 million, the average wealth per Indonesian adult was US$11,000, equivalent to Rp 148.5 million. This figure represents a 2.77 percent increase from the previous year's US$10,075 per adult and a 349 percent increase compared to 2000, when it was only US$2,451 per adult.
In 2017, the average wealth per Indonesian adult consisted of US$1,372 in financial assets and US$10,409 in non-financial assets, while their debt amounted to US$690. The Indonesian adult population contributed 3.4 percent to the global adult population, while the wealth of wealthy Indonesians contributed 0.7 percent to global wealth.
Global wealth in 2017 reached US$280 trillion, equivalent to Rp 3,780 quadrillion, with 36.05 million wealthy individuals. The average wealth per adult globally was US$56,541. The estimated world population was 7.5 billion, with 4.96 billion adults.
