The UEFA European Championship 2024, held from June 14th to July 4th, 2024, has concluded.
Spain emerged as the champion after defeating England 2-1 in the final match at Olympiastadion, Germany, on Monday, July 15th, 2024.
According to UEFA, the total prize money in this European football competition reached EUR 331 million, equivalent to approximately Rp 5.8 trillion (assuming an exchange rate of Rp 17,602 per EUR). This amount is unchanged from the total prize money of the UEFA European Championship 2020.
Each participating team received a base prize of EUR 9.25 million (Rp 162.81 billion).
Teams that reached the Round of 16 received an additional EUR 1.5 million (Rp 26.40 billion).
Teams reaching the quarter-finals received an additional EUR 2.5 million (Rp 44 billion), and those reaching the semi-finals received an additional EUR 4 million (Rp 70.4 billion).
In the final, the champion received an additional EUR 8 million (Rp 141 billion), while the runner-up received an additional EUR 5 million (Rp 88 billion).
UEFA also awarded EUR 1 million (Rp 17.6 billion) to each team winning a group stage match, and EUR 500,000 (Rp 8.8 billion) to teams drawing a group stage match.
Therefore, Spain, as the champion of the UEFA European Championship 2024, received a total prize of EUR 28.25 million, or approximately Rp 497.25 billion.
This amount includes the prize money from all stages reached by La Roja until the final, as well as the three wins achieved in the group stage.
England, the runner-up, received a total prize of EUR 24.25 million, or approximately Rp 426.84 billion.
