Prevalence of Inadequate Food Consumption in Landak Rises 3.57% in the Last Year

According to data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), the prevalence of undernourishment (PoU) in Landak Regency, West Kalimantan reached 14.46% in 2025.

This figure increased by 3.57% from the previous year's 10.89%, while in the last 5 years it decreased by 9.77%.

Indonesia's average PoU in 2025 was 7.89%. This means that PoU in Landak Regency is higher than the national average.

The National Food Agency (Bapanas) defines PoU as a condition where a person regularly consumes an insufficient amount of food to meet the energy needs for a normal, active, and healthy life.

This indicator can be used as a tool to observe food and nutrition security conditions.

This means that residents of Landak Regency who consume food but do not meet their energy needs account for up to 14.46% of the total population.

Compared to the other 13 regencies/cities in West Kalimantan Province, PoU in Landak Regency ranks 6th. The regions with the lowest PoU (top ranks) are Pontianak City (7.54%) and the highest (last rank) is Melawi Regency (19.49%).
