Based on the SiPongi forest and land fire monitoring system from the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (KLHK), monitoring over the last 24 hours detected 660 hotspots across Indonesia. This count increased by 153 points compared to the prior period.

This data was obtained from Terra/Aqua, SNPP, and NOAA satellite imagery accessed on Friday, 26 June 2026 at 11:30 WIB. Out of 660 detected hotspots: 12 have high confidence level, 635 medium confidence, and 13 low confidence.

Hotspot confidence is divided into 3 tiers: Low (0–29), Medium (30–79), High (80–100). Higher hotspot confidence indicates greater probability of forest and land fires in that area.

The highest hotspot count was recorded in East Kalimantan with 92 points. Central Sulawesi ranked second with 86 points, followed by West Kalimantan at third place with 65 hotspots.

42 hotspots were detected in Central Kalimantan, 40 in South Sulawesi, while East Java and South Kalimantan recorded 38 and 36 hotspots respectively.

A hotspot is a geographic coordinate showing higher surface temperature than surrounding areas; this does not directly equal the total number of fire incidents.

However, clustered high hotspot counts indicate ongoing forest and land fires. Satellite-detected hotspot data remains the most effective method for large-area fire monitoring.
