The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) has appointed Qatar as the host of the 18th Asian Cup 2023. The competition for Asian countries is scheduled to take place from January 12 to February 10, 2024.
As the host, Qatar will provide nine stadiums to host matches for the six group stages and the knockout phase.
Seven of these stadiums were used for the 2022 World Cup matches when Qatar was appointed as the host.
According to Stadium Database data, Lusail Stadium has the largest seating capacity, at 88,000 people. This makes Lusail the stadium with the largest capacity in Qatar.
Located in Doha, Qatar, this stadium will host the opening match of the Asian Cup 2024 on January 12, 2024. The match will open with the host Qatar playing against Lebanon.
Furthermore, the AFC also confirmed that the stadium will also be the venue for the final match on February 10, 2024.
Next is Al Bayt Stadium, located in Al Khor, Qatar, with a seating capacity of 68,900 people.
This stadium will host two group stage matches, one round of 16 match, and one quarter-final match.
Then the third largest is Khalifa International Stadium, with a capacity of 45,800 spectators. It will host five group stage matchdays and one round of 16 match.
