West Sulawesi's Human Development Index Rose to 66.36 Points in 2021

Human development in West Sulawesi Province continues to improve, as indicated by the increasing Human Development Index (HDI). According to the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), the HDI of West Sulawesi (Sulbar) was 66.36 points in 2021, up 0.25 points from 66.11 points the previous year.

All components of the West Sulawesi HDI in 2021 increased, except for adjusted per capita expenditure.

Meanwhile, the life expectancy at birth in 2021 in this province was recorded at 65.25 years, 0.19 years longer than in 2020.

Furthermore, the expected years of schooling (EYS) for 7-year-old children in 2021 was 12.86 years. This figure is 0.09 years longer than in 2020.

Moreover, the mean years of schooling (MYS) for the population aged 25 and over in 2021 was an average of 7.96 years. This figure is 0.07 years longer than the previous year.

Meanwhile, the people of West Sulawesi are recorded as meeting their living needs with an average adjusted per capita expenditure (2012 constant prices) of Rp 9.15 million per year in 2021. This amount decreased by Rp 15,000 compared to the previous year.
