Some countries levy the highest income taxes, even many times higher than Indonesia. Ivory Coast has the highest income tax in the world. According to *Trading Economics*, residents of this country contribute 60% of their income to taxes.

Ivory Coast, a West African nation bordering the Gulf of Guinea to its south, is one of the most prosperous countries in the region. This is undoubtedly due, in part, to its government's implementation of high income taxes.

The next countries with the highest income tax rates are Finland and Japan. Residents in both countries contribute 56.95% and 55.97% of their income to taxes, respectively.

Indonesia ranks 61st. Income tax in Indonesia is 35%, up from 30% previously.
