The highest number of Nobel Prizes was awarded in the Physics category, with 114 awards. This comprises 216 prize winners: 47 sole winners, 32 winners sharing the prize between two people, and 35 winners sharing the prize among three people.
Next, the highest number of Nobel Prizes was awarded in the Literature category, with 113 awards. There were 117 prize winners: 109 sole winners and 4 winners sharing the prize between two people.
There were also 112 awards each in the Chemistry and Medicine categories. Furthermore, there were 101 awards in the Peace category and 52 awards in the Economic Sciences category.
The announcement of the 2021 Nobel Prizes began on Monday, October 6th, with the final award, the Sveriges Riksbank Prize in Economic Sciences in Memory of Alfred Nobel, announced on Monday, October 11th, 2021.
