Beyond Texas: 10 of the Deadliest Mass Shootings in the US

Another mass shooting occurred in the United States (US) on Tuesday, May 24, 2022. This shooting involved a number of elementary school students in Uvalde, Texas.

Quoting the New York Times, the perpetrator was an 18-year-old male named Salvador Ramos. The motive for the shooting is still unclear.

Twenty-one people, consisting of 18 children and 3 adults, were killed in the incident.

This is not the first mass shooting in the United States. The US has experienced numerous deadly shootings before.

The 2017 Las Vegas tragedy is recorded as the mass shooting with the highest number of casualties in the United States. This shooting, which occurred at a country music festival, killed 58 people.

Meanwhile, the 2016 Orlando Nightclub shooting is the second deadliest mass shooting, with 49 victims. This incident began when a gunman opened fire on people at a gay nightclub in Orlando, Florida, USA.
