Top 10 Highest-Earning Badminton Players at BWF 2023: Indonesian Players Included

The Badminton World Federation (BWF) has released a list of the top 10 badminton players who earned the most prize money during the 2023 BWF World Tour.

An Se Young ranks first, with a total prize money of US$428,480, or approximately Rp6.5 billion (assuming an exchange rate of Rp15,327 per US$).

The South Korean player showed impressive performance throughout this season's matches. She reached nine BWF World Tour tournament finals and won seven championship titles.

An Se Young even surpassed the earnings of the world's number one men's singles player from Denmark, Viktor Axelsen.

Axelsen earned only about 63% of An Se Young's income, namely US$270,195 or approximately Rp4.1 billion. He collected this prize money through three championship titles from four finals he played.

Meanwhile, Indonesian badminton player Anthony Sinisuka Ginting is ranked 10th.

Ginting, as he is affectionately known, is the only Indonesian player on this list, having earned US$133,960 or approximately Rp2.05 billion.

During the 2023 BWF World Tour tournaments, Ginting reached two finals and won one title at the 2023 Singapore Open.
