After the Indonesia Masters 2024, Anthony and Jonatan's Rankings Both Drop

The Badminton World Federation (BWF) released the latest men's singles rankings after the Indonesia Masters 2024 tournament at Istora Senayan, Jakarta, from January 23-28, 2024.

In the tournament, Indonesian men's singles player Anthony Sinisuka Ginting was eliminated in the semifinals after losing to Canadian representative Brian Yang on Saturday (27/1/2024).

The match went to three games. Ginting initially won the first game 21-13. However, he was unable to maintain his lead due to a change in strategy by Brian. As a result, he lost the next two games 17-21, 19-21.

Due to this defeat, Ginting dropped one rank to fifth in the BWF men's singles ranking with 73,131 points.

Another Indonesian men's singles player, Jonatan Christie, was eliminated in the round of 32 of the Indonesia Masters 2024. The athlete, known as Jojo, dropped three ranks to ninth place with 73,131 points.

Meanwhile, the top spot in the BWF men's singles world ranking remains occupied by Danish player Viktor Axelsen, who has 97,605 points.

Axelsen was absent from the Indonesia Masters 2024 due to health reasons after losing at the India Open 2023.
