Proportion of Female Managers in These 10 Provinces Was Highest Nationally in 2020

The gender difference between women and men is no longer a barrier to achieving a career. Gender equality has occurred in all fields, including managerial positions.

Gender is the differentiation of roles, positions, responsibilities, and division of labor between men and women determined by society based on the perceived appropriate nature of women and men according to social norms, customs, beliefs, or habits.

Based on data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), the proportion of Indonesian women in managerial positions reaches 33.08%. This means that almost one-third of Indonesian women are able to lead one or more work units.

The highest proportion of women in managerial positions is recorded in Gorontalo, reaching 50.43%. This is followed by North Sulawesi with a proportion of 47.93%, then Yogyakarta Special Region at 40.54%, East Java at 39.99%, and West Sumatra at 38.48%.

Central Sulawesi also has a proportion of women in managerial positions reaching 37.01%. Following this are Bali with a proportion of 36.38%, then Jambi at 35.29%, and DKI Jakarta and Banten at 34.19% and 33.89% respectively.
