St. Peter's Basilica can accommodate 60,000 people. For comparison, Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles, the largest baseball stadium in the United States, holds up to 56,000 people. This means St. Peter's Basilica can accommodate 4,000 more people than Dodger Stadium.

The second largest church in the world is the Basilica of Our Lady of Aparecida in Brazil. With a 12,000 square meter interior and an 18,331 square meter exterior, it can hold up to 45,000 people.
