Food Consumption Deficiency Rate in Pidie Jaya Regency Increased by 9.47% in 2023

Based on data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), the prevalence of undernourishment (PoU) in Pidie Jaya Regency, Aceh, reached 9.47% in 2023.

This figure is up 1.69% from the previous year's 7.78%, and up 4.38% over the past five years.

The average PoU in Indonesia was 8.53% in 2023. This means that the PoU in Pidie Jaya Regency is higher than the national average.

According to the National Food Agency (Bapanas), PoU is a condition where a person regularly consumes an insufficient amount of food to meet the energy needs for a normal, active, and healthy life. This indicator can be used as a tool to assess food and nutrition insecurity.

This means that the percentage of residents in Pidie Jaya Regency who consume food but whose energy needs are insufficient does not reach 9.47% of the total population.
