Based on the forest and land fire monitoring system SiPongi from the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (KLHK), monitoring over the last 24 hours recorded 753 hotspots detected in Indonesia. This figure increased by 101 points compared to the previous period.

Data was obtained from Terra/Aqua, SNPP, and NOAA satellite imagery accessed on Friday (3/7/2026) at 11:53 WIB. Of the total 753 detected hotspots: 21 have high confidence level, 711 medium confidence, and 21 low confidence.

Hotspot confidence is categorized into 3 tiers: low (0-29), medium (30-79), high (80-100). Higher hotspot confidence indicates greater likelihood of active forest and land fires in the area.

East Nusa Tenggara recorded the most hotspots at 73 points, followed by Central Sulawesi (65 points) in second place and South Sulawesi (64 points) in third.

59 hotspots were detected in South Papua, 57 in East Java, while South Sumatra and Southeast Sulawesi recorded 48 and 46 hotspots respectively.

Hotspots are coordinate points showing higher surface temperature than surrounding areas; this count does not represent the number of separate fire incidents.

However, clustered high hotspot counts indicate ongoing forest and land fire activity. Satellite remote sensing hotspot detection remains the most effective method for large-scale wildfire monitoring.
