In a statement on its official website, BMKG explained that several factors contributed to the high temperatures in Indonesia, including the dry season and the apparent position of the sun moving south of the equator.
"Other factors (causing high temperatures), such as wind speed, cloud cover, and humidity levels, also have a significant impact on scorching temperatures in a region, as is currently happening in several areas of Indonesia," wrote BMKG in its press release on Saturday (September 30, 2023).
BMKG also predicts that this scorching heat will continue throughout October 2023.
"BMKG urges the public to always maintain their stamina and hydration, especially for those working outdoors during the day, to prevent dehydration," said BMKG.
