716 Hotspots Detected in Indonesia in the Last 24 Hours (Monday, August 4, 2025)

Based on the SiPongi forest and land fire monitoring system of the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (KLHK), the last 24-hour monitoring shows that 716 hotspots were detected in Indonesia. This number of hotspots decreased by 905 points compared to the previous period.

The data is the result of imaging from Terra/Aqua, SNPP, and NOAA satellites accessed on Monday (August 4, 2025) at 11:12 AM WIB. Of the 716 detected hotspots, 10 points had a high confidence level, 689 points were medium scale, and 17 points were low scale.

Hotspot confidence levels are divided into 3 scales. The low scale ranges from 0 - 29, the medium scale from 30 - 79, and the high scale from 80 - 100. The higher the hotspot confidence level, the higher the likelihood of forest and land fires occurring in a particular area.

The most detected hotspots were in Riau with 169 points. West Kalimantan ranked second with 112 hotspots. East Nusa Tenggara was in third place with 83 hotspots.

As many as 61 hotspots were detected in East Java, followed by West Nusa Tenggara with 52 hotspots, and East Kalimantan and North Sumatra each had 49 and 44 detected hotspots, respectively.

A hotspot is a coordinate point of an area that has a higher surface temperature than its surroundings, and not the number of forest and land fire incidents.

However, a large number of hotspots clustered in an area indicates the occurrence of forest and land fires. This means that hotspot data from remote sensing satellite detection is still the most effective in monitoring forest and land fires for large areas.
