Prevalence of Food Undernourishment in Rote Ndao Decreased by 0.04% in the Last Year

The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) reported that the prevalence of undernourishment (PoU) in Rote Ndao Regency, East Nusa Tenggara, was 13.77% in 2025.

This figure decreased by 0.04% from the previous year's 13.81%, while it fell by 3.18% in the last 5 years.

The average PoU in Indonesia was 7.89% in 2025. This means that the PoU in Rote Ndao Regency is higher than the national average.

According to the National Food Agency (Bapanas), PoU is a condition where a person regularly consumes an insufficient amount of food to meet the energy required for a normal, active, and healthy life.

This indicator can be used as a tool to assess food and nutrition insecurity.

This means that less than 13.77% of the total population in Rote Ndao Regency consumes food but lacks sufficient energy.
