The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) recorded a decrease in the number of crimes in DKI Jakarta to 20,370 cases in 2021, compared to 21,311 cases the previous year.
This decrease in crime led to a reduction in the crime rate. The crime rate fell to 191 per 100,000 population in 2021, down from 201 per 100,000 population in the previous year.
The crime rate is an indicator used to measure the vulnerability to crime in a particular city at a specific time. A higher crime rate indicates a higher level of crime vulnerability in an area, and vice versa.
In Jakarta, 20,053 cases, or 98.44% of the total number of crimes in 2021, were resolved. This demonstrates an improvement in the performance of the Polda Metro Jaya Police.
Compared to 2020, the number of resolved cases increased to 24,629, or 115.57% of the total number of crimes. This indicates an increase in the resolution of previously unresolved cases from the previous year.
