The National Zakat Collection Agency (Baznas) formulated a scenario of projected values for zakat, infak, alms, and other social religious funds (ZIS-DSKL) in Indonesia in 2026.

The calculation method is based on the 2024 collection projection using the compound interest formula. From this method, three scenarios were formulated, namely optimistic, moderate, and pessimistic.

Baznas explained that the optimistic scenario uses an average annual growth rate (CAGR) of 41.75% to maintain historical acceleration.

The moderate scenario uses the 2024 annual growth rate (year-on-year/yoy) of 27.29% as a reflection of current real conditions.

Meanwhile, the pessimistic scenario uses a safe assumption of 15% as a mitigation step in case of future economic slowdown or market saturation.

"In the optimistic scenario, the institution targets a maximum achievement of IDR 65.63 trillion in ZIS-DSKL collection," Baznas wrote in the Indonesia Zakat Outlook 2026.

In the moderate scenario, the target ZIS-DSKL is set realistically at IDR 63.75 trillion. Meanwhile, in the pessimistic scenario, Baznas projects a fund collection of IDR 56.20 trillion.

If realized, the value of the pessimistic scenario already exceeds the achievements of previous years, where during 2021-2024, the fund collection ranged from IDR 14.22 trillion to IDR 40.51 trillion.

Baznas explained that due to the dynamic growth trend during the 2021-2024 period, a strategic mapping is needed to mitigate risks and optimize fund collection potential.

"Therefore, the target setting for 2026 is not just based on a single figure, but divided into three projection scenarios: optimistic, moderate, and pessimistic," explained Baznas.

"So that the institution has flexibility in responding to various possible economic conditions and existing operational capacities," he added.
