The Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis Center (PPATK) temporarily suspended transactions for 12,063 accounts throughout the first semester of 2025.

The temporary suspension was carried out by PPATK to intervene in suspicious transactions and those suspected of being criminal acts (TP), such as corruption, online gambling, embezzlement, and narcotics.

Based on cases, 49.1% of the accounts whose transactions were temporarily suspended were mostly suspected of being related to gambling crimes, followed by cybercrime, which accounted for 39.6%.

Below is the number of accounts whose transactions were temporarily suspended by PPATK, classified by case type, throughout the first semester of 2025:

Gambling Crimes: 5,923 accounts
Cybercrime: 4,777 accounts
Corruption Crimes: 596 accounts
Money Laundering (TPPU): 461 accounts
Electronic Information and Transaction Crimes (ITE): 132 accounts
Fraud Crimes: 108 accounts
Environmental Crimes: 25 accounts
Embezzlement: 24 accounts
Tax Crimes: 9 accounts
Excise: 6 accounts
Banking Crimes: 2 accounts.

In addition to temporarily suspending transactions, PPATK also identified crime patterns involving inactive or dormant accounts.

According to PPATK, a recurring pattern has been found in the last five years, for instance, dormant accounts are used to hold proceeds of crime, illegally traded, hacked, or used as nominee accounts by unauthorized parties.

"The temporary suspension measure is an important instrument to prevent proceeds of crime from changing hands, being further traced, or strengthening broader criminal networks," PPATK explained in its performance report.
