Top Issues Considered Important by Indonesian Society, Q2 2025

According to a survey by the Seventeen Pioneer Foundation (PP17), the majority of Indonesians (52%) consider the economy the most important topic in the second quarter of 2025.

"Although this is down from the first quarter of 2025 (60%), the topic remains a primary concern for a significant portion of the population, particularly those residing on Java Island (62%)," stated PP17 in its National Kawula Survey Q2 2025 Report.

Other topics considered important include corruption and education. Corruption was deemed more important by men (44%), while education was considered more important by university graduates (52%) and residents of Sumatra (47%).

Poverty and employment followed. Employment, specifically, was considered more important by those aged 25-34 (36%).

PP17 conducted this survey from May 12-15, 2025, using a computer-assisted self-interviewing (CASI) method, or online survey, involving 417 respondents aged 17-44 in Indonesia.
