The Ballon d'Or is an annual individual football award presented by France Football since 1956.
This year, the Ballon d'Or will feature 30 nominated footballers. France Football will announce the winner on October 28, 2024, at the Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris, France.
According to Sporting News, Real Madrid is the club with the most nominees in this year's Ballon d'Or.
Seven Los Blancos players are competing for the title of best player: Jude Bellingham, Federico Valverde, Toni Kroos, Vinicius Junior, Dani Carvajal, Antonio Rüdiger, and Kylian Mbappé.
Manchester City and Arsenal each have three representatives in the Ballon d'Or 2024 nominations. Other clubs have between one and three nominees.
For the first time since 2003, Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo are absent from this year's Ballon d'Or nominations.
Messi led the Argentinian national team to victory in the 2024 Copa America. The global star is also the last Ballon d'Or winner and has won 8 Ballon d'Or awards.
