Arema FC Wins 2024 President's Cup: What's the Prize Money?

Arema FC won the 2024 President's Cup after defeating Borneo FC in a penalty shootout in the final match at Manahan Stadium, Solo, on Sunday (4/8/2024).

The match ended in a 1-1 draw. Arema FC's goal was scored by William Marcilio in the 49th minute, while Borneo FC equalized through Leo Gaucho in the 62nd minute.

After 90 minutes, the score remained unchanged, leading to a penalty shootout. One Borneo FC penalty taker missed, resulting in a 5-4 victory for Arema FC, also known as Singo Edan.

For their victory, Arema FC received a prize of Rp5.25 billion. The complete prize breakdown for the 2024 President's Cup is as follows:

* 1st Place: Rp5.25 billion
* 2nd Place: Rp2.75 billion
* 3rd Place: Rp1.75 billion
* 4th Place: Rp1.25 billion

According to Vincentius Dominique, Deputy Chairman of Finance for the 2024 President's Cup, the initial prize money for the winner was Rp5 billion.

However, the prize money was increased due to increased sponsor revenue leading up to the final.

"The total sponsorship revenue for the President's Cup tournament is the highest in history, reaching Rp79 billion," said Dominique in a press conference before the final, broadcast on the PSSI YouTube channel on Friday (2/8/2024).

Arema FC General Manager Yusrinal Fitriandi stated that his team dedicated their victory in the 2024 President's Cup to the victims of the Kanjuruhan tragedy.

"We want to dedicate this championship title to all the victims of the Kanjuruhan tragedy. Their prayers and support have always been with us in every match," said Yusrinal in a statement, as reported by *Kompas.com* on Monday (5/8/2024).

Arema FC management will donate 13.5% of their total prize money to the 135 families of the victims who died in the tragedy.

"We realize that money cannot replace lives. However, we want to share this happiness with the victims," said the Arema FC Manager.
