South Jakarta Has the Highest Human Development Index in Jakarta Province

The Human Development Index (HDI) of South Jakarta is the highest compared to other regions. This indicates that development in South Jakarta has been the most successful in improving the standard of living of its people.

Statistics Indonesia DKI Jakarta recorded South Jakarta's HDI at 83.37, above the overall HDI of DKI Jakarta, which is 78.99. Nationally, DKI Jakarta has the highest HDI compared to other provinces and is above the national average, which only reaches 69.55. East Jakarta's HDI is second at 80.73, followed by West Jakarta's HDI at 79.73. Meanwhile, the Thousand Islands Regency's HDI lags behind at the lowest level, 68.84, also below the overall HDI of DKI Jakarta.

The Human Development Index is an indicator to measure overall development performance through a three-dimensional basic approach: long and healthy life, knowledge, and a decent standard of living.
