Setting a New Record, Kevin Durant Enters the NBA's Top 10 All-Time Leading Scorers

Phoenix Suns player Kevin Durant has set a new record, entering the top 10 highest scorers in National Basketball Association (NBA) history.

He achieved this after his team defeated the Denver Nuggets with a final score of 111-119 during a visit to Footprint Center Arizona, last Saturday (December 2nd, 2023).

According to the official NBA website, Durant successfully scored 27,423 points at the end of the game. This achievement brought him into the top 10 highest scorers in the NBA as of December 2nd, 2023.

This figure surpasses Moses Malone's point total, who now moves to 11th place with 27,409 points. Although only a 14-point difference, this is a new achievement for Durant throughout his career.

“It took a lot of hard work, a lot of preparation, a lot of people helped me get to this point,” said Durant, as quoted from the official NBA website, Saturday (December 2nd, 2023).

The veteran American player has played in the NBA for 17 seasons. He was absent for a full year due to an Achilles injury.

Meanwhile, LeBron James still tops the list of all-time highest NBA point scorers. The Los Angeles Lakers player has amassed 39,124 points.

In the top 10 list of NBA's highest-scoring players, Durant and LeBron James are the only active players currently competing in the tournament.
