Based on the SiPongi forest and land fire monitoring system from the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (KLHK), monitoring over the last 24 hours detected 5,910 hotspots across Indonesia. This hotspot count decreased by 6,115 points compared to the previous period.

The highest number of hotspots was recorded in South Sumatra with 1,133 points. West Kalimantan ranked second with 758 hotspots, followed by Central Kalimantan in third place with 754 hotspots.
479 hotspots were detected in East Kalimantan, 411 in Maluku, while South Sulawesi and East Java recorded 246 and 183 hotspots respectively.
A hotspot is a coordinate point with higher surface temperature than its surroundings; it does not equal the number of actual fire incidents.
However, concentrated clusters of high hotspot counts indicate active forest and land fires. Satellite-detected hotspot data remains the most effective method for large-scale wildfire monitoring.
