14.18 Million Taxpayers Have Filed Annual Tax Returns as of April 2024

The Directorate General of Taxes (DJP) of the Ministry of Finance (Kemenkeu) reported that 14.18 million taxpayers had filed their Annual Tax Returns (SPT) by the April 2024 deadline.

The number of filings in this period grew by 7.15% year-on-year (yoy). In 2023, only 13.24 million taxpayers filed their annual SPT.

Specifically, the total number of annual SPTs comprised 1.04 million from corporate taxpayers and 13.14 million from individual taxpayers.

DJP Director of Outreach, Services, and Public Relations, Dwi Astuti, stated that although annual SPT compliance has increased, the DJP still needs to strive to achieve this year's target.

The target compliance ratio for annual SPTs by the end of 2024 is 82.2% of the total 19.2 million taxpayers.

"This means that 16.09 million SPTs need to be filed to meet the target," Dwi said in a statement, as reported by Kontan on Tuesday (7/5/2024).

Dwi also urged taxpayers who have not yet filed their SPTs to do so immediately.
